October 18, 2011 marks the 20th anniversary of the modern Azerbaijan gained its independence. During this period the achievements in all spheres of life, and especially in the socio-economic, have become the decisive factor in determining the position of Azerbaijan in the World.
In the book “World Ranking of Azerbaijan’s Economy”, published first in a series of annual publications, represented the leading global reports rating organizations, as well as links to national statistical sources in Azerbaijan, which during the past 20 years determined its position among the world's major quantitative and qualitative indicators.
The book is divided into three sections. In the first section, titled “World ranking of Azerbaijan's economy on the main quantitative indicators” collected population figures, the GDP, GDP per capita, ranking the parameters of Azerbaijan Export and import in the world, as well as in Europe, the CIS, the Islamic world, among the Turkic-speaking countries and the Southern Caucasus. This section also reflected the country's rating on oil and gas market in the world, taking into account the values of the energy sector in the economy of Azerbaijan.
In the second section, called "World ranking of Azerbaijan's economy on the main quality indicators", submitted ratings Azerbaijani economy in the world on various quality parameters, covering areas such as competition, business environment, standard of living, profit
distribution, management, etc. In the third section of the book is called "World ranking of Azerbaijan's economy on various monetary and fiscal parameters" are indicators that reflect the rating of the Azerbaijani economy in the world on various parameters, covering areas such as budget, taxes, foreign exchange reserves, etc.
In the book, prepared on the basis of statistical data grouping, there are 76 tables that are a lot of illustrative materials, e-mail addresses are all sources of information disclosed and the values of the most frequently used acronyms.
The book is somewhat unique because it is essentially the first modern edition in this field in Azerbaijan and is intended primarily for use in research and educational fields as a source of statistical information, but no doubt it will attract attention and a wider audience. The edition will be published annually on the basis of new materials. Every year, this book will be presented to the readers before the Day of State Independence of Azerbaijan Republic.
