"GREAT ECONOMIC ENCYCLOPEDIA":

AN IMPORTANT EVENT IN THE SCIENTIFIC AND SOCIAL LIFE

Significant step has been made in the family of specialized encyclopedias - the first economic encyclopedia ofAzerbaijanhas been published. Five-volume edition of "Great Economic Encyclopedia", the author and editor in chief of which is the Milli Mejlis deputy, academician Ziyad Samedzade, reflects such factors as the end of the transitional period, accelerated development of the national economy on the basis of the modernist positions, further strengthened role and place of our country among the countries of the world community. More than 10 000 terms, concepts, and articles are reflected in numerous theoretical, factual materials in the publication, the reader will find the necessary information about a variety of economic events, categories and models. In the preparation of the edition economic dictionaries, statistics of the developed world, resources of the international economic, banking, financial and labor organizations were productively used. Much attention is paid to various aspects of the contemporary socio-economic and economic-legal systems. Distinguished representatives ofAzerbaijan's economic science, scientists and thinkers who have made a significant contribution to the socio-economic life of the country, economists, entrepreneurs and financiers are also mentioned here. The "Great Economic Encyclopedia" is unique for its diverse scientific and analytical aspects, methodicalness, vocabulary, bibliographical and statistical awareness and elegant printing quality. This publication as a valuable representative of the Azerbaijani encyclopedic culture is also the first major edition of its kind in the national language in the CIS.
